CANON

canon: Sputnik Sweetheart
summary: Here
quick rundown: Miu is the central figure in the novel, though she is neither the narrator or its main character. She meets the MC, Sumire, at a wedding reception and seeing something in her, suggests that she come work for her at her import company. Sumire, having fallen in love with Miu, agrees and the two slowly build up a close, emotionally intimate relationship. Suddenly, Miu sees it necessary to leave for Europe on business and invites Sumire along as her private secretary, to which Sumire says yes. They have a great trip, Miu comfortable in Sumire's company and after having finished their work in France, they go on vacation on a small Greek island. Here their relationship further progresses, when Sumire decides to confess her feelings for Miu and while Miu has feelings for her as well, she cannot reciprocate the younger woman's sexual advances due to an experience she had 14 years ago that turned her hair white and left her half a person.
canon point: Defaulting to playing Miu before Sumire goes missing, but can otherwise play her at any point between that and their initial meeting at the wedding reception.
notes: Seeing Miu as a sex-neutral bordering on sex-repulsed asexual, I won't under any circumstances write smut or sexting threads with her, but as I don't consider her aromantic, shipping without the sexual element is fine. I write her as female-leaning.

PLAYER

contact: PM to this journal. [plurk.com profile] thewriteway
active times/pace: CEST/CET player. Tries to be online at least during the evening my time, but it varies. More one tag a day player than anything, but if you hit me up at the right time, I can still boomerang a bit.
brackets/prose: Definitely brackets preference, but will match. I default to present tense, but can also match other tenses.
offensive subjects/triggers: Not any.
notes: I am playing Miu based on the Danish translation of the book. I have read the English one, but it's a very long time ago and I don't remember the terms and words used specifically for that version, so I'm doing off-the-top-of-my-head translation from the Danish to English in my portrayal here. I may reread the English one at some point, idk.

IN CHARACTER

physical affection: Miu is decidedly sparse with touching and prefers to initiate touch rather than having it forced upon her.
physical violence: I'd prefer not.
relationships: F/F pref, but F/M with the right chemistry. Outside memes that are specifically designed for it, I prefer not to assume any romantic CR unless relevant canon mates. Sumires are always welcome.
psychic info: Ask, she has had some strange psychological experiences in her life that could perhaps be interesting to explore.
magical info: No magical powers. Good with playing opposite characters who do have them.
medical info: She's in good health, eats well and exercises regularly.
offensive subjects/triggers: In his usual magically realistic style, Murakami has given Miu a background story that could imply sexual assault. It will never be spoken about like this except in magically realistic terms of splitting, other worlds and such, if Miu should ever decide to tell your character about it, which is very unlikely. However, her response of cutting sex out of her life completely after that further supports this theory. If the implication or mention of sexual assault is a trigger for you, let me know and I'll avoid tagging you.

OUT OF CHARACTER

backtagging: Yes, please!
threadhopping: No.
fourthwalling: Yes, in appropriate memes.
not interested in: Smut, neither F/F and especially not F/M.
